Point Cloud Dreams, a research project by Matador Motion
Point cloud data is a collection of points in three-dimensional space that can be captured using various technologies, such as LiDAR scanners or photogrammetry techniques. By processing this data, it is possible to create detailed 3D models of real-world objects or environments.
Exploring the possibilities with this technology has been exciting. Bringing the data to life visually in Houdini has made the point cloud data feel alive.
Further development of this project will explore how to create an immersive visual experience in VR with this data combining spatial audio and interactive elements to the viewer's experience.
